Kolašin is situated on the North of Montenegro. It is 75 km from the capital city Podgorica, and 165 km from the airport in Tivat.

Kolašin is a perfect starting point for exciting rafting trips on The River Tara. Rafting is an unforgettable adventure in Montenegro. The Tara River is the real gem of Montenegro with its canyon reaching 1300 m deep. It is the deepest canyon in Europe and the second deepest canyon worldwide, just behind the Grand Canyon created by the Colorado River in Arizona, USA.
 This amazing location, the largest drinkable reservoir in Europe, is under protections by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The most famous excursion sites in the region are Biogradsko and Šiško Lake, as well as two Ursulovačko lakes and Pešića Lake situated on Bjelasica, followed by Kapetanovo lake and the canyon of river Mrtvica.
The well known Biogradsko Lake is surrounded by the oldest rainforest in Europe; The Biogradska Rainforest, whose trees are centuries old and stand above the lake like giants.
